Teach a SAMI Combat System: in your center, in seminars or one-to-one. Your level results from passed instructor exams; the license connects you with SAMI International.

The path

Four steps to your level

  1. Start your license

    Choose a center (optional), sign the agreement digitally, €250 per year. The instructor area opens right after.

  2. Training

    In the instructor track of an online course or in an on-site seminar. You start at level 1.

  3. Instructor exam

    Live via video in the course or at the end of the seminar. The exam fee is stated on the respective course or seminar.

  4. Level per system

    Every passed exam raises your level in that Combat System, or your module in systems with three modules. It is shown on your instructor profile.

Level

Your level comes from exams

The instructor level applies per Combat System. Your highest passed instructor exam counts. Student levels are recorded separately.

The same ladder of 12 levels applies to Panantukan, Stick, Knife and SAMI-X PRO. Systems with 3 modules instead of levels, such as SDS and EBC, have a shorter ladder: Trainee, Modul 1 Instructor, Modul 2 Instructor, System Instructor.

How the start works

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pass an exam before starting the license?

No. The instructor area opens as soon as you start the license. Your instructor level rises with every passed instructor exam.

Do I need martial arts experience?

No. The training starts at level 1; you get instruction, corrections and feedback in the course or seminar.

How long does the training take?

In a seminar usually three days per level. Online there is no fixed time limit; most people need three to four months for an instructor course, and you should complete it within a year.

Is the online certification the same as instructor training?

No. The online certification tests your student level and does not grant instructor authorisation. You become an instructor through the instructor track of an online course or a seminar with an instructor exam.

Does the instructor area cost extra?

No. The instructor area is part of the annual license. With it you teach SAMI Combat Systems, use the official teaching material and present yourself with your instructor profile.

Do I need a partner for online training?

For about half of the exercises, yes. Your partner does not need martial arts experience. You practise a lot on your own, and some partner drills can be replaced with suitable equipment.
